Arbetslös eller inte?
I vinnande anda sätter jag härmed stopp för diskussionen om huruvida man är arbetslös då man inte aktivt söker jobb:
"When evaluating demographic statistics on unemployment, it is important to note how social scientists use the term "unemployed". Simply being out of work is not sufficient to be designated unemployed. Rather, a person who is out of work must be actively seeking employment in order to be counted among the ranks of the unemployed. Persons who are not employed but who have, for one reason or another, given up the search for gainful employment are considered to be out of the workforce. Thus, a report on unemployment does not reflect the actual number of people who are out of work."
